2017 Salvation Army Red Kettle has Officially Begun

November 16, 2017

The Salvation Army of Canandaigua will be partnering with Canandaigua National Bank & Trust (CNB) for its annual Red Kettle Christmas fund raising campaign – and bell ringing begins Friday, November 24th at a few of our Ontario County Community Bank Offices.

CNB’s Main Office Community Manager, Deborah Rought, will serve as honorary chair of the 2017 Red Kettle Campaign for the Salvation Army of Canandaigua. Rought served as honorary chair last year and a new record was set for the total amount of funds raised with over $114,000.

“The red kettles are the most visible of our fundraisers, The Salvation Army relies on money raised in the red kettles to support social service programs year-round. All donations received in the kettles stay in the communities where the contributions are made to assist the local less fortunate,” said Major Les Bussey, pastor and administrator for the Canandaigua Salvation Army Worship and Community Center.

“At CNB, our commitment to the community is a large part of our culture and our core values. We are proud to partner with The Salvation Army and champion the Red Kettle Campaign, again for the fifth year in a row. The Salvation Army is a great organization which helps our friends and neighbors in need. Supporting communities and each other is what this partnership is all about,” said Deborah E. Rought, Vice President - Main Community Office Manager of Canandaigua National Bank & Trust.

“We have multiple kettles around Canandaigua and we use those funds to support local residents through a variety of programs and services throughout the year. Our goal for this year is $110,000 and we are really relying on our community to help their neighbors in need. Whatever amount people put into our Red Kettles is making change happen in Canandaigua, and Doing the Most Good.” explains Major Bussey.

CNB will have kettles on November 24th, December 1st, December 8th, December 15th, and December 22nd at the following branch locations:

  • Main Office – 72 South Main St., Canandaigua
  • Victor Office – 61 West Main St., Victor
  • Bloomfield Office – 4 Main St., Bloomfield
  • Honeoye Office – 8633 Main St., Honeoye

A check was presented to the Salvation Army of Canandaigua and Major Bussey by Deborah Rought – VP, Community Office Manager.  In addition to the $1,000 donation, CNB employees raised funds that Friday during their Casual Blue for Charity day, the funds totaled $740.
