Stoker and Johnson: Women of Distinction Nominees

April 20, 2018

Congratulations to Canandaigua National Bank & Trust’s Brenda Stoker, Senior Vice President – Consumer Lending Operations Manager, and Samantha Johnson, Vice President – Victor Community Office Manager, on their nominations for the Professional Women of the Finger Lakes (PWFL) Women of Distinction Awards!

Brenda Stoker Brenda Stoker has been nominated in the Professional Achievement category for the 2018 PWFL Women of Distinction Award. This award recognizes a woman whose intelligence, diplomacy, integrity and reputation for achievement all lead to success in her chosen profession in the public or private sector.

Stoker has been with Canandaigua National Bank & Trust (CNB) since 1997. In that time she has positively impacted the lives of countless customers and colleagues. Stoker’s wealth of experience and congenial manner put others at ease, accentuating her natural leadership abilities. She serves her peers and co-workers as a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration. Professionally, she has led the Consumer Lending team to process more than 14 thousand contracts in the last year. As a result of her team’s efforts, the Consumer Lending portfolio has more than doubled in the last seven years.

Stoker is also committed to service in her community. One of her passions outside of CNB, is her work with the United Way of Ontario County. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors and as a member of the community investment committee and the women’s leadership council. She is involved in CNB’s United Way committee that rallies employees each year during the spring campaign drive, organizes company food drives, and recruits employees for the annual Day of Caring volunteer event.

Genuine is one word that can be used to describe Brenda Stoker. Congratulations Brenda!

Sam Johnson Samantha (Sam) Johnson has been nominated in the Volunteer Service category for the 2018 PWFL Women of Distinction Award. This award recognizes a woman who gives willingly and generously of her time and talent. She demonstrates steady commitment, and participates actively and altruistically, for the joy of serving others and achieving a common goal.

Johnson has spent her last 17 years immersing herself in the Victor community. As Community Office Manager of Canandaigua National Bank & Trust’s Victor branch, she has made a point of becoming an integral part of her community. Johnson makes sure that the CNB Victor office is front and center in supporting events and causes that contribute to the welfare of the community. Her commitment to the community and excellent service for all CNB customers make her a successful and respected member of the CNB family. Johnson’s enthusiasm and eagerness to support the Victor area fosters a sense of connection and belonging, encouraging her employees to be active in the community as well. Local businesses and organizations know they can count on her for support, advice, and participation when called upon.

Johnson has been involved for many years with the Victor Chamber of Commerce where she has served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer. She is also a dedicated member of the Chamber’s Women of Excellence committee, annually recognizing women leaders. She is an active member in the Victor-Farmington Rotary Club, Club-Advisor for Victor Intermediate School Builders, Campaign Director for Victor-Farmington United Way Campaign and champion for local non-profits like Ganondagan State Historic Site and Victor Local Development Corp. She has worked with a local daycare, Key Club, and Victor Schools to provide branch tours and education to pre-school, school age, and special needs children. If there is a need to be met within the Victor community, Samantha Johnson is ready and willing to meet the challenge.

Giving is one word that can be used to describe Samantha Johnson. Congratulations Sam!
