CNB Announces Arthur S. Hamlin Award Recipients

This June, Canandaigua National Corporation (CNC) recognized two recipients with the 2021 Arthur S. Hamlin Award for Excellence, Joe Legan and Jan Schrader. Each year the Bank recognizes the outstanding contributions of one of its employees to receive the honor. It was agreed that the 2021 recognition be awarded to two dedicated employees that showed exceptional professionalism and service throughout a challenging year.

The award is named for Canandaigua National Bank & Trust’s past President, CEO, and Chairman Arthur S. Hamlin. The ASH Award is given annually to an employee(s) who exemplifies the core values and characteristics of the man for whom the award is named:

Joe Legan has been with CNC for 9 years and currently serves as IT Support Manager. He has worked for the Deposit Operations department, and has been a part of IT Support for the last six years. Legan oversees the day-to-day activities of IT support that goes on within the Bank, insuring users can complete their job responsibilities. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration, Management Focus, from St John Fisher College. Legan is a resident of Fairport.

Jan Schrader has been with CNC for 37 years and is currently an Assistant Vice President and the Help Desk Manager. Prior to becoming Help Desk Manager, Schrader held several different positions at the Bank, starting as a retail office teller. She spent 20 years as a Corporate Trainer, several years in Operations support, and then served as Call Center Manager. Schrader has been involved in the community as board member – Center for Financial Training, Honeoye Central School Board of Education, a Girl Scout troop leader, and Honeoye Sports Booster Co-President, among other community roles. She is currently involved with the United Church of Bristol through several positions and committees. She graduated from SUNY Oswego with her B.S. in Childhood Education/English. Schrader is a resident of Bristol.
