Habitat for Humanity of Ontario County’s Builders Ball on Friday raised $10,000, according to an initial tally. About 100 people attended the inaugural event that benefits the nonprofit housing organization.
The ball held at Bristol Harbour included live and silent auctions of more than 40 items; live music by Miche Fambro; hors d’oeuvres and wine and spirits tastings.
George W. Hamlin, IV, chairman of Canandaigua National Bank and Trust Co., was honored by receiving the first Habitat for Humanity of Ontario County Legacy Award.
Master of ceremonies was Geneva native, Pat Taney, with Messenger Post news partner, News10 NBC, WHEC.
As part of the international nonprofit Habitat for Humanity, Habitat in Ontario County began in 1990. This month, the local organization dedicated its 16th house in its mission to provide simple, decent, and affordable housing. In June, the latest build will be a 17th house on Chapin Street in Canandaigua.
