Did you know when needed you can split a transaction into separate dollar amounts and assign a category to each dollar amount? For example: a total purchase from a supermarket is $50, but $20 was spent on groceries and $30 was spent on general merchandise. In CNBudget Central, you can split the total transaction by dollar amount and assign the categories of “Groceries” and “General Merchandise”, respectively.
How: When viewing ‘Transactions’, locate the transaction you want to assign more than one category to, and at the end of the description for that transaction select ‘Split’. For the first part of your split, select a ‘Category‘, enter an ‘Amount’ and if you want any additional information, and then press ‘Add Another Split’. Continue these steps to split your transaction into as many parts as you want. When you are done press ‘Save Split Transaction’.
