Telephone Scam- Debit Cards

Customers and Non-Customers have been receiving phone calls in regards to their debit card. It is an automated service stating the debit card is locked or needs to be activated. They are asking you to respond by pressing 1 on your phone. If you press one they are asking you to provide your debit card number and possibly other personal information such as checking account number, social security number, etc. The phone number that has shown up on some reported caller id’s is 312-465-1642. It may be possible for more than one phone number to be involved. Canandaigua National Bank & Trust does not participate in calls like this. This is a SCAM. Please hang up immediately. Do not follow through with their instructions.
