Larry joined the Bank in April 1998 and previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations. His duties include financial management, budgeting, and reporting for the Corporation, Bank and their subsidiaries, a well as managing Information Technology, back-office operations, trust operations, and facilities. Since Larry’s arrival, the Bank has grown to 23 offices and over $1.5 billion in assets. In addition, Larry serves as the manager of the CNB Insurance Agency.
Larry received his BS in Accounting , Summa Cum Lauda, from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1987. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPA’s, and the Financial Executives Institute (FEI).
Larry began his professional career with KPMG, a big-five accounting firm. He worked there from 1987 through March 1998. His practice focused on services to the banking and insurance industries. Larry’s work with KPMG included a two year assignment in Amsterdam, The Netherlands where he consulted with international trade banks in the former Czechoslovakia and the Ukraine, and manufacturing and finance companies in Holland.
Since 1987 Larry has been licensed to sell property and casualty insurance and he ran the Hodges-Heilbronner Agency in Perry, NY for two years following the death of his uncle, the principal of the Agency. Larry also served several insurance clients in Rochester and Buffalo while at KPMG.
Larry is active in the community serving on several not-for-profit boards and committees over the years in the Greater Rochester Area, including Arts and Cultural Council of Greater Rochester, Mount Hope Family Center, Jewish Family Service of Rochester, Temple B’Rith Kodesh, Jewish Community Federation, and JCC Foundation.
Larry was honored by the Rochester Business Journal with the 40 Under 40 award in 1999 and was selected as a finalist for the 2009 Financial Executive of the Year.
Larry lives in Brighton, NY with his three children.
