Helping your employees plan for their future is an excellent way to increase their satisfaction and retention, and an important benefit that can help attract qualified new employees.
A 401(k) plan (named for its location in the tax code) may be the perfect option for your company. It offers employees a tax-advantaged method of saving for retirement, while also delivering significant tax savings for you. And if your company already has a defined contribution plan, a 401(k) is easy and inexpensive to add.
While the plan is sponsored by you, the employer, it's funded by employee contributions. You may, however, match those contributions, in whole or in part, subject to certain restrictions.
At Canandaigua National Bank & Trust, we can help you start and maintain a 401(k) plan, and we even have a prototype plan to get you up and running more quickly. And by hiring CNB as your professional trustee, we'll assume fiduciary responsibility for your plan's assets and its operation. We'll also relieve you of your plan's onerous administrative demands.
As trustee, CNB will also coordinate the establishment or conversion of your plan with an outside Plan Administrator, who handles record keeping and employee statements. And we'll work out any necessary payroll deduction issues with your payroll service.
CNB will also be there to assist you with on-site employee education, helping explain your new plan and the investment options it offers your employees. Investment options include a variety of choices through our ChosenTM Retirement Year Portfolios1 and The Chosen Funds®2.
