Online Banking Tip of the Day: Create an Alert to be Notified of a Low Checking Balance

Did you know in the Online Banking Center you can create an alert for a low checking account balance?  This is a nice way to be notified when your checking account balance has gone below the amount you designated.
How:  Log in to the CNB Online Banking Center and from the ‘Preferences’ menu, select ‘Alert Options.’  Click ‘Add Alert’ to view the drop-down list and select ‘New Account Alert’ to open a pop-up window.  Under ‘Alert Criteria’ select the ‘Account,’ for the ‘Field’ select ‘Current Balance,’ for the ‘Trigger’ choose ‘Less than amount,’ enter an ‘Amount’ and select a ‘Notification Frequency.’  For ‘Notification Preferences,’ choose a ‘Type’ for how you want to receive this notification and then press ‘OK.’

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Sign up New Accounts for e-statements

Did you know you can sign up to receive e-statements for each CNB account you have added to your online banking login ID?  Whenever you make an adjustment to your accounts in online banking, it is a good idea to review the ‘Statement Delivery’ selections for each account.
How:  An account needs to be added to online banking before you can sign that account up for e-statements.  Once you have completed the steps to add a CNB account to your existing login ID and the account appears on the ‘Overview’ page in the Online Banking Center.  You can then follow the steps to receive statements electronically for that account.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Return Your Account Register to the Default View

Did you know in the Online Banking Center it is easy to return your account register back to your default view?  This is helpful for when you have adjusted how transactions are listed but want to go back to the default view you created for that account.
How:  After using the search and/or sort options to adjust an account’s register.  Select ‘Search’ from the left side of the account register toolbar.  From the list choose ‘Default View,’ and press ‘Submit.’

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Receive a Text Message with Up-To-Date Balances for All Accounts

Did you know with Text Banking you can receive a text message that lists up-to-date balances for all of your accounts?  This simple text command is helpful when you want to view balances for all of your accounts, to see if you need to make a transfer.
How:  Text BAL to 226563 and receive a text message with balances for all of the accounts you enabled for Text Banking.  Accounts will be listed by their account short names with the available and current balance.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Display Last 30 Days of Transactions with Debits and Credits Separated

Did you know in the Online Banking Center you can choose how many recent days of transactions to display and separate debits from credits?  The account register has many options for searching, sorting and grouping to help you select which transactions to display and in what order.
How:  Log in to the CNB Online Banking Center and go to the register for the account you want to view.  Select ‘Search’ from the left side of the account register toolbar to view the ‘Search Criteria’ drop-down list.  From the list choose ‘Most Recent Days,’ enter ‘30’ for the ‘Number of Days,’ and press ‘Submit.’  Then click the ‘Debit’ or ‘Credit’ column header to separate your debits from your credits.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Use Text Banking to Make a Transfer

Did you know with Text Banking you can make a transfer between any of your enabled accounts?  This is the quickest and easiest way to make an instant funds transfer between two of your CNB accounts.
How:  For example, if you want to transfer $100.00 from your savings account with the short name ‘SAV1’ to your checking account with the short name ‘CHK1,’ simply text XFER SAV1 CHK1 100.00 to 226563.  You will instantly receive a confirmation text message that the transfer is complete along with up-to-date balances for both accounts involved.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Customize the Default Register Display for Each Account

Did you know in the Online Banking Center you can customize the default register display for each of your accounts?  For example, you may have an account where you only want the last 15 days of transactions displayed in the register, while you have another account where you want the last 100 transactions displayed.
How:  Log in to the CNB Online Banking Center and from the ‘Preferences’ menu, select ‘Account Preferences.’  From the ‘Type’ drop-down list, select ‘Days’ or ‘Items,’ and then enter a number in the ‘#’ column.  Choose what you want for each of your accounts and then press ‘Submit.’  You can make adjustments to your ‘Account Preferences’ at any time.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Text Banking, Not Case Sensitive

Did you know that Text Banking is not case sensitive?  This makes it easier and quicker for you to enter commands and account short names, without adjusting between upper and lower case characters.
How:  For example, if you have an account with the short name ‘CHK1’ and you want the balance for that account.  You can text BAL CHK1, bal chk1, Bal Chk1, or any other variation to 226563.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Using a Display Name to Identify an Account

Did you know in the Online Banking Center you can create a display name for an account?  This feature allows you to customize account names, which makes it easier for you to identify a specific account.
How:  Log in to the CNB Online Banking Center and from the ‘Preferences’ menu, select ‘Account Preferences.’  Create a name in the ‘Display Name’ column for each account and then press ‘Submit.’  You can create display names for all accounts, including cross customer and external accounts you added for transfers.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Adjust the Order Accounts are Listed for Transfers

Did you know in the Online Banking Center you can adjust the order that accounts are listed for transfers?  This allows you to place accounts you regularly make transfers to or from at the top of your list and place other accounts at the bottom of your list.
How:  Log in to the CNB Online Banking Center and from the ‘Preferences’ menu, select ‘Account Preferences.’  In the ‘Order’ column for each account, enter a different value, starting with 1 for the account you want listed first and so on.  When you finish entering your order, press ‘Submit.’  When making a transfer, available accounts will be listed according to the order you created.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Print Text Banking Commands for Your Reference

Did you know you can print your own card of Text Banking commands?  This is a useful card that lists all of the commands and their functions, which you can carry in your wallet for easy reference.
How:  Go to CNBank.com/TextBanking and toward the bottom of the page is a link to the ‘Printable Text Banking Wallet Card with Commands.’  Press the link to open the PDF and follow the steps to print for your computer.  Once printed, cut along the border and fold to have your text banking commands with you when needed.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: List Recurring Transactions in Order of Tracking IDs

Did you know in the Online Banking Center you can list your recurring transactions in order of their tracking ID numbers?  There is not a search option for recurring transactions, so this is a helpful feature when you have a specific tracking number you are looking for.
How:  Log in to the CNB Online Banking Center and from the ‘Transactions’ menu, select ‘Manage Recurring.’  If it is not already selected, select ‘None’ from the ‘Group By’ drop-down list.  Click on the ‘Tracking ID’ column header to display your transactions according to ID number, in ascending or descending order.  Click on the column header again to reverse the order.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Add Another CNB Online Banking Customer for Future Transfers

Did you know in the Online Banking Center you can add another CNB online banking customer’s account to your list of accounts to transfer to?  With this one-time process, the account will be listed and available for you to schedule transfers, in both the Online Banking Center and the Mobile Banking app.
How:  Log in to the CNB Online Banking Center and from the ‘Transactions’ menu, select ‘Cross Customer Transfer Setup.’  Select the radio button for ‘Save recipient information…’ and press ‘Continue.’  Enter the ‘To Email Address’ and the ‘Last 4 Digits of CNB Account #’ (these should be obtained from the recipient), then press ‘Continue.’  Once the recipient information is saved, the account will be listed as a ‘To Account,’ along with your other accounts for funds transfers.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Browser Settings and Pop-ups

Did you know that there are features in the Online Banking Center that utilize pop-ups?  This is useful to know if you encounter difficulty with a feature not opening.
How:  Your browser settings will determine if you want a pop-up displayed in a new window or a new tab.  Features such as ‘Open New Account,’ ‘CNBillPay,’ ‘CNBudget Central,’ ‘Check Reorder’ and ‘Help’ utilize pop-ups.  If needed, adjust the browser settings to your preference.  A pop-up blocker may prevent access to a feature.  If so, you will either need to temporarily allow the pop-up, turn off your pop-up blocker or add ‘CNBank.com’ to your list of allowed sites.

Online Banking Tip of the Day: Placing a Reorder for Checks and Other Banking Items

Did you know in the Online Banking Center you can reorder checks?  This is a convenient way to reorder checks, covers, deposit tickets and other banking items.
How:  Log in to the CNB Online Banking Center and from the ‘Services’ menu, select ‘Check Reorder.’  Double click on the account you want to reorder checks for.  A new window or tab will redirect you to Deluxe Financial Services.  The information Deluxe has from previous orders will load.  There are various options to choose from; you can do a simple reorder, make adjustments, or order other banking supplies.  Be sure to review all details of your order before you finalize and checkout.
